Good rainy morning to everyone. This morning as I am getting ready for work and drinking the most delicious cup of coffee with the perfect amount of French vanilla creamer, I am reminiscing on last night's Wednesday night service. First, let me encourage you to attend your church’s mid-week services. There is something uniquely powerful about those Wednesday nights. In the middle of the week, right when life feels heaviest, God releases fresh strength, fresh clarity, and fresh perspective. It’s like a spiritual reset that realigns your heart and refuels your faith. What you receive on those nights can carry you through battles you didn’t even know were coming. Don’t underestimate the mid-week, it’s often where breakthrough begins. So, back to my original reason for messaging this morning, Disclaimer, you will get used to my rabbit trails, I tend to go on them often, LOL
Last night our church family was divided into small groups, around 4-5 people per group and each group had a facilitator. The facilitator guided the group with questions regarding perspective. The bible text that was read was from Numbers with Joshua and Caleb when they went to spy the land of Canaan. There perspective of Canaan was different than the other leaders who went to spy on Canaan. Read Numbers chapters 13 and 14, this is POWERFUL!! So back to our small groups, we all had the opportunity to chime in and speak about areas in our life that we need a "new perspective" on. Man, oh man, let me tell you, there were some amazing revelations that came forth from the people in our group. From vulnerable, venting revelations to that peace which truly passes all understanding, God was moving in every moment.
Joshua and Caleb had a different perspective because they stayed close to Moses. They were kingdom-minded, God-centered, and focused on His promises rather than the obstacles before them. Who you allow in your circle MATTERS! Your perspective is shaped by what you feed yourself spiritually and by the voices you permit to speak into your life. The right circle will sharpen your faith, while the wrong one can distort your vision. This morning, I want to encourage you. First, know that we ALL have areas in our life that need a NEW PERSPECTIVE!! I will be transparent with you, I need a new perspective when it comes to viewing obstacles not as dead ends, but as opportunities for growth, strengthening, and deeper dependence on God. There are so many times when I imagine how things are going to work out, how God is going to bring His promises to pass. But almost never does He do it the way I pictured it in my mind. In fact, I was sharing this with a friend last night, and she said, ‘Yep, the Lord is like, Oh, that’s cute… now let Me show you how I’m really going to work this out.’ And I laughed so hard because she was absolutely right! God’s ways are higher, wiser, and far more creative than anything we could dream up. Thank you Shelby, for that.
I want to take this opportunity to pray with you and encourage you, to help you shift and realign your perspective so it becomes a Godly and a heavenly perspective over your life. My desire is that every lens you look through begins to reflect God’s truth, God’s hope, and God’s purpose for you.
Father, in the precious name of Jesus. Your Word says, ‘Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things’. Colossians 3:2. So, today, I ask that You renew our minds and align our perspective with Yours. Open our eyes to see as You see, strengthen our hearts to trust Your ways, and guide our steps according to Your truth.
Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7
In Jesus’ name, we pray AMEN

The perspective group Wednesday I was in and the Sunday message, caused me to reflect on areas in my life that needed a changed perspective as well. But I also noticing in day to day activities I started asking God to give me the right perspective and direction, the godly thinking. Thinking like Caleb and Joshua, and as discussed in our group David. So if start to get frustrated I get a lil nudge now and reminder to stop and think for a minute! Plus I love what was said about perspective being a gift from God and it’s our choice on how we see!
Beautifully said!!! I love this and the fact that we have to check our perspectives for our growth and maturity. It shows our closeness with God. Love this!!!
