Walking It Out: All for His Glory, How We Do, What We Do

Ladies, where do I even begin with this post? First, let me share my heart and pray I don’t wander too far down the many rabbit trails my thoughts love to take.

As women, no matter the beautiful season we find ourselves in, we are walking in purpose. Purpose doesn’t always look grand or glamorous. Sometimes it looks like completing daily tasks, attending school or college, maintaining a home, showing up for a job, caring for our families, or simply being a faithful friend. We should always view those purposes with the right eyes and approach them with a heart of worship....worship to the LORD. Worship is not just a song we sing with our hands raised, it is a lifestyle.

For as long as I will live, I will remember this one time I made my 8 year old daughter mac-n-cheese. Now prior to this particular night, anytime my daughter complimented supper or snacks, I would always respond with , "Thank you baby, it's because mommy made it with LOVE for you." Sweet right? LOL Well, back to this one particular night. We were either getting home from running errands or getting ready to hit the road and I made her this little cup of microwavable mac and cheese. When she began to eat it, she looked up at me and said, "Mom this taste like it was made with rush and not much love." OH MY GOSH... I was crushed. It was in that moment I realized the way in which we do the things we do matters as much as the things we do. Now, let that sink in for a min. It was never really about the supper, the snacks, the juices...it is ALWAYS about the manner in which we do them!!! She must have sensed in that moment the rush of the moment, the milk being poured a little less gracefully or the stir of the mac and cheese a little more vigorously. The truth is everything we do is being watched, it is so important that we live passionately in our purpose as well as in a way that glorifies GOD.

It is the HOW we do these things that matters most. Life isn’t about simply checking boxes or rushing to the next task. It’s about the posture of our hearts while we’re doing them.

The Bible tells us in Colossians 3:23, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” That means when we show up to work, we do so with excellence, not giving just 10%, but offering our very best. When we respond to a friend, we respond with grace, patience, and love, as if our words are being offered directly to God, because, my girl, they are. When we care for our families, they deserve our very BEST!! This is how God expects us to go through life.

When we tend to life’s everyday responsibilities, we are called to do ALL of it as unto the Lord. This isn’t just good advice; it’s biblical instruction. And more than that, it’s ministry.

Do you realize that the way you carry yourself on the job, when done with integrity, diligence, and a Christ-centered heart can catch the attention of unbelievers? Your work ethic, your attitude, your consistency can reflect the very character of God. Without ever saying a word, you are showing others what it looks like to serve the Lord through obedience and excellence. We show the love of God to our family and friends by being rooted in the Lord and responding in our relationships out of our relationship with Him. When Christ is our foundation, the way we love, speak, forgive, and serve others reflects His heart, not our own emotions or circumstances.

We can preach the right and acceptable way to live, but honestly those are just words EMPTY....unless our lives reflect the truth. Scripture reminds us in James 1:22 (KJV), “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Our faith is proven not by what we say, but by how we live it out daily. I pray we each evaluate our own lives and strive to do EVERTYTHING as unto the LORD.

♥LOVE YOU♥GOD BLESS♥
