Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Girlfriend, this is POWERFUL! So often, we as women think that responding in softness shows weakness. However, Scripture tells us otherwise. Proverbs reminds us that strength and honor are our clothing.
“Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” Proverbs 31:25 We can be soft in spirit yet be mighty and strong in our stance.
When we are operating with a spirit of softness, we are walking in tenderness, compassion, peace, and humility. We remain emotionally regulated, calm and not reactive to circumstances. Softness is not weakness; it is strength under control. You may ask the question, “What is our stance as a Christian woman?” I’m so glad you asked. Our stance is our convictions, what we stand on, what we stand for, and what we refuse to compromise. It is our commitment to God’s Word, our boundaries, and our identity in Christ. Even when situations are harsh, our stance keeps us grounded, firm, and unmovable.
Here are few ways we can walk in spiritual gentleness and strength when situations are harsh
1. We respond, not react. Softness in spirit means we don’t allow chaos, disrespect, or emotion to control us. Strength shows up in self-control. He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty. (Prov. 16:32, KJV)
2. We speak truth with grace. Strength isn’t silence. Femininity doesn’t mean shrinking. We can speak clearly, firmly, and respectfully, without aggression.
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt. (Col. 4:6, KJV)
3. We hold boundaries without hostility. A soft spirit doesn’t tolerate mistreatment. Spiritual strength is knowing when to say no without guilt.
Above all else, guard thy heart. (Prov. 4:23, KJV)
4. We stand on God’s Word, not emotions. Harsh situations tempt us to respond in the flesh. Mighty strength is choosing obedience over impulse.
Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord. (Zech. 4:6, KJV)
5. We remain rooted in identity. Femininity in Christ is confidence, not comparison. We don’t harden ourselves to survive; we stay anchored. Anchored in truth, anchored in identity, and anchored in God’s Word. Even when the world pressures us to toughen up or shrink back, we remain soft in spirit and strong in conviction. Our strength is not loud or abrasive, it is quiet, rooted, and unshakable.
My dear sister, we are not to conform to the ways of the world. We are set apart and are called to be salt and light, reflecting Christ in our character, conduct, and convictions. When situations arise, and they surely will, we are called to remain steady and unmovable. Remember, the only thing we truly have control over is our response. We are not responsible for managing or controlling the emotions of others; we are responsible for guarding our own heart and honoring God in how we respond. We will all be accountable for our own hearts when we stand before the Lord.
